Client Spotlight – Fannin County Electric Co-op

Client Spotlight:
Fannin County Electric Co-op

The North Texas Municipal Water District is building Bois D’Arc Lake within the service territory of Fannin County Electric Cooperative (FCEC) which required the relocation of FCEC distribution facilities. The base of several poles in this particular line will be underwater when the lake is at flood level.  The usual solution for this situation would be concrete poles. FCEC desired the characteristics of steel poles for attaching their equipment in the future. The answer was to use hybrid poles, concrete on the bottom, steel on top.  These poles weigh in at 40,000 lbs. (36,000 lbs of concrete, 4,000 lbs. of steel).
