Wolfe City Line Relocate and Upgrade
M&S Engineering was hired by Fannin County Electric Cooperative to complete upgrades for North Texas Municipal Water District. The scope of this ongoing project includes reconductoring, conversion, new construction, rebuilds, and demolition of overhead lines.
Our teams were involved with the engineering design of the reconductoring of 9.5 miles of distribution line from #2 ACSR to 1/0 ACSR cable.
Approximately 4.5 miles of 7.2/12.5kV 3-phase line will be converted to 14.4/24.9kV, and an additional 4,000 feet of 3-phase overhead power line will be newly constructed to perform as a tie between two feeders to allow for improved reliability and flexibility in future operations. The project also consisted of the removal of approximately 1 mile of an existing overhead 3-phase line and the rebuilding of 3 miles of 1-phase line to 3-phase. M&S teams also prepared the engineering and bid packages for all of the various facets of the project.
